JeffMan said:I own a VZ58 that I can get nice groups with, and it's got similar sights but they are different in that they are longer on the vertical plane and perhaps wider. Maybe I'll try the "V" notch rear sight.

SKS designed for peasants ( probably why so popular in Canuckistan)
cheap and cheerful , and fun to shoot god damm it .
its a fun fun gun unless of course your a closet liberal then its a hampster raping
weapon of mass distruction and evil. actualy mine is as the only numbers on it are 666 with a few zero`s thrown in
the only people who dont like SKS`s are gun snobs
emmab said:I put the tech 2000 or whatever it's called on one of my sks, and it works great. Has windage and elevation adjustments. The bonus is the longer sight radius and the tech setup stays put with a solid mounting system. The aperture sight is a lot easier to use than the standard original. I centered the front post in the protective shroud and use the shroud centered in the rear aperture for a fast sight picture. The alignment is then made with the elev. and windage on the tech. I'd give tech two thumbs up
JeffMan said:OK, so I've just gotten back into my old factory 26 and I plan on shooting it a bit more.
As I've stated in another thread I've owned two SKS's and both have functioned flawlessly but I can't hit anything with them (6-8" MOA)
I know it's not the gun, and I know I can hit things with my M14, AR15, CZ58, mini14, etc. I'm a bloody surgeon with my ARs! So it's not entirely my technique, or is it?
Anyway, my question is how do you guys aim the darn thing?
Have you done any mods to the sights? That darn rear notch is smaller than a Nat’s arse (no I'm not so old as to use the word "arse" but I am watching my language)
I'm reluctant to put any money into it, like adding some of the peep sights available, so what are your tips and tricks?
Or is it just practice?
Jeff
