any trophy chipmonk hunters out there?

The chipmunk is so wary and smart that a good pack of hounds will increase your odds of success. Experts figure that Plott hounds taught to ignore bears and seek out chipmunks will be worth top dollar. There's nothing in the world like the music of a good pack of loyal Plotts baying at a cornered chipmunk. But, don't let it's size fool you! A cornered chipmunk will tear the nose right off your $2,000 Chip/Plott hound.
And now Hornady has teamed up with Iver Johnson to bring out the first single shot break open specialty chipmunk rifle in the all new .165 Chipper Magnum! A must for not only the dedicated chipmunk hunter, but for target shooters too! Rumor has it that Marlin has a short barreled lever action in the works and Ruger and Remington are scrambling to get the first bolt action
.165 Chipper Magnum on the market. After years of being ignored the chipmunk is finally being recognized as a game animal.-Boone & Crocket have anounced an all new chipmunk catagory with puffy cheeks being an important measuring criteria. Stay tuned!

Now thats what I wanna see in my possession. Man that thing is a monster. The one I saw today was just a bit smaller but none the less, still a beat. I do have a 8" shotgun with 3 1/2" slugs as a backup gun or incase they charge me but I wish I could carry something else that pack more of a punch for those close encounters. Maybe a flame thrower would be a good tool?

yea man besides check with your regs before u do it its different in each area don't just say "thats illegal!"

Don't much bother with the "Chippies" ... those red "Bush Tigers" like
Ranger Rick & GI Joe got though, that's another matter altogether.

Little buggers roll grouse eggs out of the nest and eat live young.
Bad news little cannibals !

This last winter was the season for starting an all out rodent war with the Eastern Greys. They ate through the aluminum siding on my garden shed to get at the seeds I had stored inside.

Threemorewishes = 5
Eastern Grey Squirrel (Black variation) = 0

A scoped, multi-stroke pneumatic airgun in .22cal with some internal valve mods made short work of the little buggers. This season has started off on the wrong foot for the garden variety rabbit who ate all my green bean plants the day I transplanted then. The time is coming for this fella too...

I had set up a bunch of rat traps around my lawn but took them out after a rather stern warning from MNR folks that if a squirrel ever go caught in one of them I'd get in some rather serious trouble. They don't seem to mind when the neighbourhood cats get'em though ... :evil:

yea my kitty loves going on the hunt i'm always shocked to see what she drags back chipmunks mice even a morning dove and robins hell she can hunt better then me and shes a over weight old cat

I'd love to see the cat that takes a grey squirrel. Those little buggers are lighting fast and very agressive especially when they have young around.
