Al at Westrifle said for every 5000 SVT-40's he sees, he does see one that is non refurbished and all matching. Using that example, chances are slim that we'll get one. I'm interested in hearing more of this AVT cache, though....
One of mine is a '41 Tula (the year they were besieged). It shoots and functions fine, but somehow still seems like a cranky, cantankerous old bugger. Gave me a 3rd degree arm burn last summer when it rolled a hot casing across the bench and under my arm, where it stuck and burned right in. Its like the thing has a pissed off Soviet ghost in it or something.
Mines a '43 tula and I've had a few of those, obviously not as bad as your burn.
I know of an example of an svt that had a finn capture mark, then a soviet capture mark and then a german capture mark lol sucks to have been whoever was issued that rifle lol
A gun produced solely during war, during a siege, and always on the front line. Hard pressed to find one all matching. Busted up, wore out and pieced together guns from bits that would still work. I'm amazed any survived in any condition.
