Your serial number without a letter prefix dates it before 1968. In 1968 Remington started using a letter in front of the serial number.

If you email Remington they can tell you when your gun was made.

Call remington cust service. You can wait a while for them to answer emails. Mind you can wait a while for them to answer the phone, but its usually a little quicker.
