Any Zastava fans ?

This thread got me poking around a bit. Been interested in dipping m toes in the 17HMR water, and I like my full stock Zastava (oh, how I wish these were more available) in x39.
Gagnon sports and SAIL sports both have them listed as in stock.

Canada Ammo still has a M85 7.62X39 in stock but without iron sights.

I was referring to the full stock ("Stutzen" stock) version. It has a shorter barrel (18" as opposed to 20") and is actually a bit lighter (5.9Lbs for full stock, 6.1Lbs for the normal sporter).

Good little freezer filler for deer season.

I would love the 17HMR companion, but no one seems to be bringing in the full stock version:

I looked at them at Sail and expected myself to really like it..... I didn't much care for them. This is a bias on my part to new guns in general I'm a milsurp guy. I bought my first black rifle instead a 10/22 take 22lr. I also already have a JW25A bolt 22lr and couldn't find much that warranted the upgrade so went lateral and bought a quality semi.

My two Zastavas the M22/Z5 in 22lr (top) and M85 in 7.62x39mm (bottom) are very beautiful and a joy to shoot. Pricewise they were dirt cheap. IMHO they present themselves million times better than any plastic stock rifles.

I think they are a great value and a joy to hold and shoot....on the 22lr I had to tweak the magazines a tad to feed smoothly, and is fussy on extracting ammo, apparently a tight chamber, sticking to ammo you know it likes is easy enough, or you can but in stiffer springs for the extractors.....imo the few small issues are far outweighed by the positives...nicely polished blued metal, decent wood, accurate
