Anybody else into Remington Classics?

I've had a couple but unloaded all of my Rem's in favour of Ruger M77's... Douglas (cfbm-i) had a pile of 700 Classics, but he was selling a bunch off last year... I don't know if he has any left... he had a few of the harder to find ones.

The Old Man had a Classic is 338 WM that had the barrel shortened to 21" and an inch taken off the forend to make it look right. Looked a bit like a Model 7 on steroids.

350RM classic (different stock, trigger, firing pin etc etc etc) ....too bad they didnt make a 358W classic

I have: 222 Remington, 6mm Remington, 6.5x55 Swede, 7x57, 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Savage, 30-06, 8x57.

Have owned: [should have kept] 220 Swift, 280 Remington, 7mm Weatherby, 300 H&H, 300 Weatherby, 35 Whelen.

I do like the classic stock a lot...it seems to feel just right in my hands, and I shoot well with them.

Dave.

Well let's see.............still have 8X57, 7mm Wby, 35 Whelen, 300 Wby, 300 H&H, 338 WM........the big sell off didn't do so well, sold a Bob a Swede and a True King..........still have all the rest plus the 300 H&H.

And have you considered parting with any of the above ?

I would certainly part with most of them for the right price............it's not like they are my primary hunting rifles or anything........just a phase I went through. See I have this rare disease called COLLECTITIS, and when it rears it's ugly head, I spend all my disposable income on what ever bauble has become the subject of my fixation...........guns in general, Winchesters for a couple years, cars for a few years, 700 Classics for a couple years, every species of huntable animal on the planet for most of my life, I even have 4 tractors because............God knows I need 4 tractors like I need another orifice in my cranium, I have 2 Waverunners and 3 boats, 2 Argos, 2 quads, 2 Rangers (sideXsides), I must have 15 or 20 fishing rods and I don't even like fishing !!.......Tools, you should see my tool collection, it is impressive. Now you know why I had to buy 34 acres and build a 5000 sq ft shop......and a 1600 sq ft trophy room.
Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease or medication to minimize it's ravages.......I can tell you it is hard on relationships, not to mention bank balances...........It is impossible to explain to spouses and seldom understood by them. Even though it is quite common amongst males I have the advanced condition, where I also find it nearly impossible to sell off my previous fixation to fund my latest one. It is very much like hoarders one sees on TV, but my tastes are way more expensive and I, arguably don't hoard junk.........I consider them my assets, and they are truly readily resalable.

Back on topic, I would easily part with the 338 and 35 Whelen.......I still want to play with the rest, as I haven't even fired them yet.

I see nothing unusual about your collectitis! Perhaps the funniest illustration of this common male affliction was in the animated movie 'The Wind in the Willows'...when 'Toad' sees a 'motor car' for the first time........and he's off!
