I don't believe the 700 classics were CRF....
Was referring to the M70 "Classic" as per above.
The Remington 700 Classic came out as a regular offering from 1978 to 1985. It came out in 22-250, 6mm, 243, 270, 30-06, and 7mm RM. Starting in 1981, Remington decided to put out a limited run of one calibre, separate from the regular offering. This continued on after the regular offering was discontinued, up to 2004.
I started collecting them when I first got my Classic in 7mm RM. I've since liquidated most of them except for the 7mm RM and a 280 (1997) that I'm trying to sell. They are nice rifles and fit me quite well, but I needed to downsize my collection.
