Anybody ever buy a gun for "safe keeping" but not really need it?

Weatherby With French Walnut

I got a NIB Weatherby Lazermark chambered in the 270 Wby Mag that has AAA French walnut Wood.I Bought it,socked it,and threw it in the safe where it has been ever since.I look at it on occasion???

I really think I should sell it and use the $$$ for something else, but I have trouble parting with it!

Am I normal? lol

Kinda, sorta.

A friend was going through a divorce and sold the guns to me for cash, he would buy them later when back on his feet. I gave him twice their worth to help him out. He passed away a couple years later and although I have looked at selling them, have not as they are now remembrances of him. I probably will some day as the rifles and shotgun are nothing special as firearms, but in the meantime they are in the back of the safe.

x2 on that,I have two of my late uncle's weatherby Deluxe Rifles and there's no way in Hell they are leaving the Family...Ever

Like many here I have some of my granfathers old rifles and some of my dads and uncles that stay in the locker. What surprises me though is my CZ 527 kevlar just has not been getting the range time it used. I love the rifle, but every now and then I get an urge to sell it off to help fund an AR.
