Anybody ever use a bird hook for dressing?

I've been told this method works well for freshly killed snow geese as well. Takes a stronger pull than on a grouse to do the job though. If they start to get rigor mortis it won't work.

For $600 it should come with a long legged Luftstansa stewardess to carry it around!

I've seen a few Puma's. Nice. Not that nice, though.

For grouse, I usually just pinch the skin beside the vent to break it, then pull the innards out. If you don't rip a whole lot, there's not much blood or mess involved.

The stand on the wings works pretty well, unless the bird was shot through the wings or back.

Yeah, I know. Headshots are best, but grouse in the pan is better than no grouse in the pan. :)

I've done the Snow Goose 'pull'. Hard to do, and things have to be perfect. No broken legs, hard dry ground, hard dry boots, good grip on the bird. But it can be done.
