Anybody Gone From Beretta to Glock?

Everyone hates my Beretta if they have shot them in the past. If they are a new shooter they love the look (looks gangsta? I dunno....) Some people can shoot'em some cant. My hands re pretty big and the grip fits right for my hand. If I was to go away from Beretta tho I would take an M&P; nice size, easy to work the slide lock, changeable grips and just slightly long enough not to be prohib (Ie nice and concealable if i go to the states). Went to the states recently and rented a few pistols, the XD was nice in .40 cal fired straight and in the black at 10 yrds. The Sig was good too in 9mm but I didnt think it was anything special. The USP was really loose perhaps just from being a rental but when the slide cycled you could feel the mag moving around and the slide was also loose. Then there was the Kimber 1911...I still have to keep telling myself I cant afford it : )

Glocks are dead simple in design and very robust..

My biggest beef is with their loose rail-to-frame tolerances (the slide actually wobbles), but, I understand why. They are cheap, mass-produced and have the pleasant side effect of still working in filthy conditions.

Despite that they are durn accurate, though!

I shoot better with a Glock that a Beretta. I think it's because the polymer absorbs more of the recoil. The whole gun is consequently more 'elastic'. Don't get me wrong, the 1911 remains my favorite. I just think I shoot best with the glock.

I am still a Beretta guy, even though I don't actually like the Elite1A I am using right now. I don't like the straight backstrap, my hand doesn't fit it well, same as a 1911 in that regard. I shoot a Glock fine, beyond the fact that they chew my hand up. I have a G19 (12-6) just cuz, but much prefer my M&P for a plastic gun. The new slim frame Glocks fit me better because they have a more pronounced beaver tail, but I still like a traditional DA/SA arrangement over the Glock trigger setup.
but the key thing is what works for you? no two people are going to be the same.

OK, off to Epps.

M&P, Glock, XD, whatever else fits. Now I know what to look for.

The Beretta is a beautiful work of art. Lots of people shoot well with it. I know that Glocks are falling off trees and the Beretta is rare, but maybe it's not for me.

Thanks guys.

Yeah... the Barrel to Slide fit is great - simple and consistent from Glock to Glock :D
This is another reason why I love Glocks... take barrel from one, toss it in another and you are good to go. 100% modular.

Beretta slide/barrel slop disappears during the actual firing, locking up tight and exactly the same each time.
