since it is a American online store.

is it true we can order something less than $100 (including shipping or tax or not?) ??

does any one ever ordered something from SKSman?
Is there a ......extra charge there? like the border fee? the brokerage fee? and the canadian tax

I used to have a very bad experience order something from American online store. it was worth $280 but I finally paid double of the amount because of the stupid "UPS brokerage fee"

suppose I buy $100 goods from US, that is the final price

but I really want a Choate sks scope mount at SKSman.

No idea about all that gibberish but I bought a ventilated handguard from him recently. Couldn't get him to answer emails so I took the plunge, it was only $14 by the time it hit my door, he shipped it USPS so it came through Canada Post which meant no brokerage.

do you know can they ship those 10 rounds detachable magazine to Canada?
 
There is a list of exportable items, and gun parts are hit or miss. Direct gun parts such as Actions, barrels, scopes, etc CAN be exported, but require permits etc, I do not know about magazines. I would hazard a guess that they require a permit. I bought a laminated gun stock recently from the USA for 92 bucks , it came usps and no brokerage charges. Until it is installed on a rifle action , its just an ugly baseball bat, and they marked "wooden sporting goods" on the label, which is true. DO NOT SHIP USING UPS OR FEDEX. they will gang rape you with the charges. I'd check the state departments list of items that can legally be exported from the US to Canada. Don't trust a dealer, because it affects them less than you if it gets seized at the customs office.
 
I got TT-33 mags from him, SKS stocks, Handgaurds... ect

Why does everyone say its 100$

its 200$ for Canada 100$ international.

Ordered from him no problem...you will pay taxes and I believe a small fee to the post office (and exchange rate) but that's about it. Good to go!
 
I'm glad I'm wrong, I thought I read a while ago that gun parts such as actions , barrels, scopes etc were deemed to be no-go for export. (at least without lengthy paperwork permits etc) and I also read (incorrectly) that there was a 100 dollar limit before tariffs , but I have also been online to several manufacturers over the months that stated "No shipping to canada on orders over $100", so I think there is confusion among many people and businesses about the allowances for customs.

you are not wrong about "significant" parts requiring permits and regarding the amount limit, well , most US dealers prefer to use the $100 limit .

US gun laws are very complicated, too many departments involved so be careful when importing gun parts. i suggest reading the foreign order section of the two largest gun parts companies from the US below.

I sent e-mails and never got a response. Even based on the good reviews above, and the fact that the prices are about 1/2 than in Canada, I'm weary of buying because if things go awry, I don't have any confidence in a quick resolution or good communication.
 
I sent email to SKSman long ago, but not get response either...
thanks to your guys who gave the 2 cents, I thinks I have collect 2 dollars now :)

Well then pay full bore in Canada, if you can get the item. If there is no responce through e-mail "make the phone call". There are so many variables using e-mail
 
weird I allways called him and had no problems....

so pay full price... I sure wont.... we need guys like you to support our local retailers so they can keep ripping us off.... 15$ TT mag is 30$ up here... if thats not a rip off I dont know what is.... Shipping is cheaper from SKSman and there is no Tax////
 
USPS priority is the cheapest method and has no brokerage fees. UPS does not ship to P.O. boxes and screws you over with fees, so dont be fooled by the lower cost up front. When you click USPS shipping, you pay the price stated at checkout and thats it. For the 10 rd. mag, they can try exporting it, but it will more than likely be seized in customs if it is not pinned before it gets shipped. Judging by everyone elses good reviews about SKSman I would have to say he is probably busy and cant keep up with emails. Brownells is the same too, just gotta give them a call.
 
The SKSMan is a great guy. IIRC he has a slight disability, stroke I think. He mentioned to me that his hands don't work very good which would be why he doesn't do emails well. It is best to call him if you have questions and then Email your order.

I also ordered the Choate mount a few days ago. He said it would be 5-7 days. I'll let you know the final charge when it arrives.
