Anybody have a CZ 550 and how does it shoot?

Great choice, the .416 Rigby is a truly magnificent cartridge. I know I advocate bigger cals, especially for elephant, but the Rigby is great. Have fun and shoot lots, when you're ready to book give me a PM and I can make some suggestions as to who you may wish to use depending on where and what you want to hunt. I have had some real great safaris and some not so good ones, so if you're interested drop me a note.

550 FS - I have 2 of them and my 9.3X62 shoots outstanding with 270 gn speers (thumped a huge old Walrus with it) the other is a 7X64 which I haven't had a chance to wring out yet. I highly recommend these to anyone liking the full stock styling and possibly a little more work required than 40 rds before condemnation as a substandard rifle.

I am a huge fan of CZ firearms. Saying that I had a 550 in 300 win mag and it was miserable to shoot. The muzzle jump and recoil in general were barely manageable. I traded it for a TC Venture in 300 win mag which has been a very impressive rifle. Too bad they have all been recalled.

Only shot 40 rounds on my first outing with my CZ 550 416 Rigby, must say the recoil is stout but manageable, with the second leaf of the rear sight ive got a perfect 6 oclock hold at 100 metres, 2 inch groups were the average i got, overall very easy going rifle smooth bolt, very good trigger no creep, clean break, LOP perfect for my size, now i am gone get all set to reload those 40 fire form cases with Woodleigh bullet... Cheers. JP.
