Anybody have a spare Turkish mauser stock..?

Well...I guess there's a first time for everything, today happens to be that day...Got a box this afternoon from Canada Post...inside was a Turkish mauser...No big deal, box had a slight bend in it...put it aside until after supper..
Then I opened it...The stock is smashed to pieces right around the reinforcing screw outwards...FU@K....
**sigh**......

This wasn't the shippers fault.... it was well packaged. .
 
The shipper will have to make the claim for insurance.

Not only that, there are several different Turkish Mauser models. You will need to give a model number.
 
Unless their policy has changed very recently then Canada post will not reimburse for damage. Only complete loss. The reason I know this is my wife runs a small internet-based business.
 
I went through this problem about a year or 2 ago when I sold a milsurp rifle on the EE and shipped through Canada Post that was insured for the full value and very well packaged in a double box.

The buyer received the rifle with the end of the box crushed and the front sight snapped off the barrel. When I called Canada Post to lodge a claim I was dicked around so much through multiple claims handlers over a 3 month period that I just gave up and now will never bother with insurance again when I sell and ship unless the buyer insists and pays for it, but I do warn that if the claim does not go through it is not my problem.

The different CP claims people I got hold of every time I called CP or when they called me back was driving me crazy as I would have to many times repeat the exact same story told to each one of them of the claim details and they would then keep asking for different info each and every time I spoke to them.

First after asking for pictures of the damage and the shipping box and shipping packaging material, they wanted the rifles original manufacturers sales and my purchase receipt (never existed) to use as it's value, then they wanted all info as to who I got it from and when and how much I paid and who I sold it to and how much they paid with a copy of their receipt too.

Then they wanted me to get a repair estimate from a registered business and a dealers quote on a new one (rifle was made before WW1) or a written independent valuation as to the rifles current market value. They also called and questioned the buyer as to if it was packaged well or was damaged before I shipped it (he emailed them the photos I sent him before he bought it) and wanted to know if the damage could have happened when he unpacked or dropped it.

After so much frustration both the buyer and I gave up and came to a mutual agreement outside of Canada Post. Their Insurance is a scam, and good luck getting anything from them if you are claiming damage on used old guns without all the paperwork they want before you make a claim.
 
Only time insurance really works is if the package goes missing
Other than that its impossible to get a claim

With the exception to express delivery and its late then you file a ticket and they will send you the money via cheque
