I appear to be missing a part. How does the collet attach to the collet handle so that it can be tightened onto the cartridge rim? There are threads inside the collet, but nothing for them to screw onto?

I figured as much, but what inside the T-handle holds it? Mine doesn't have any threads inside to grip the collet. Is something missing?

All the collet trimmers from RCBS use the same system.

If you have the newer type - the Trim Pro - it doesn't have collets but rather what RCBS refers to as "shell-holders"

Hi Andy

Nothing is missing. The Case Trimmer 2 does not use the threads inside the collet. Just slide the collet into the T-Handle and then place it into the trimmer and tighten - you're good to go.

You are talking about the Trim Pro trimmer. It is the same basic unit as the "Rotary Case Trimmer" but uses a totaly different method of holding the cases in place.

This is a Trim Pro unit:

Ahh I Got it - thanks for all the help guys. Those threads inside the collet buggered me up into thinking they had a purpose in my trimmer. So they are used in a different machine I guess.

The collet threads are used in the Case Trimmer #1 as shown in BOO's first set of pics.
