Anybody have IBI barrel reviews ?

That group was not from a rimfire but a 6.5 x 284 using 162's
Core group after wind died was .166 MOA.

300M
No attempt at tuning for either load or OAL.
fireforming new brass.
shooting at first in 3-5 kph breeze which died part way through and I was not compensating for wind
10 shot group.
Shot 27 - 37 form a new barrel
The total size was 1.25" x 1.25" but once the wind died the last 5 went into 1/2" x 1/2"

This is good and better than my last Kreiger.

My comment was sarcasm of course,
I enjoy reading Jerry’s tests and test rigs,
A grouping picture without details didn’t tell us much...

disclaimer: I am personal friends of the owner and the manager of IBI.

I shot the very first IBI barrel to be rifled and fitted to a rifle. It shot excellent.

As they went through production growing pains the performance varied, but after some learning and the introduction of the Suunen CNC hone their barrels are second to none currently available, and I have burnt out over a half-dozen Mike Rock (pre-Rock Creek), lots of Kriegers, and a few Benchmarks including a 308 that died in under 2500 rounds so I have a bit of a baseline to compare to.

I am not one of the 'buy Canadian' cheerleaders, and I shot Kriegers and Benchmarks in National level PRS matches while they were developing their product, but the last two IBI barrels, a 6.5 creed and a 6mm creed have both proven the equal to anything I've owned.

The 6.5 I shot last year is probably the most forgiving barrel I've owned. I'm pretty sure I could scrounge a 6.5 creed cartridge off a dozen different guys and shoot a 1 moa group with twelve different loads. It shoots anything and well and to the same poi. The 6mm creed barrel they just screwed on shoots 0.3 moa with just a jump test and 10 round velocity ladder test (aka the satterlee load development).

I have no experience with their prefits and personally would avoid them on principle, but as far as barrel performance, buy with confidence.

I had a IBI put onto a Stiller Tac 30. 223AI 1:8.

I am very happy with it.

I did all my load dev at 400, and its telling when your entire ladder prints under 1.5 MOA across the entire charge weight spectrum.

I can honestly say, I "used to be" a Kreiger guy....

I'm shooting an IBI 1:7.5 MTU 26" in 6.5 Creedmoor with a SAAMI chamber, the rifle has been super consistent from day 1 for. Even shooting factory ammo its been around .7 MOA due to I'm still growing a lot as a shooter. First 100-150 rounds I saw a natural speed up then it settled in. I've been shooting 147 Gr ELD-M over H4350 at 2815 FPS which is a pretty spicy load and not rain safe at all, I will be tuning down a bit lower soon since it seems like the 147 may be hard to get now so I'm going to try the Barnes 145 match burner (308 guy for a long time so I still have the mentality.) I've also been shooting an IBI on my 10/22 and it's accurate as all get out, just my current bolt combo isn't too great with Eley Force, more part will be coming soon!

Wow. 199.99 for 500 145 grain match burners? That’s not bad at all considering today’s prices ! I’d totally use those if I had a 6.5

Looks like some solid info on IBI barrels. I’m willing to give it a shot with one of their barrels.

As a dealer for IBI, I can say that customers will receive alot of support both in the technical side to ensure they choose the best rifle barrel but also on the shooting side to make sure it works well

I have been very impressed with the efforts, investment and performance of their barrels. I am pivoting more and more of customers to their product and I am receiving alot of happy feedback.

Being Canadian is fantastic but first it has to be a good product with good support. I am happy to say that with IBI, you will receive both.

PM or email to discuss.

Jerry

That’s good to know. I’m still waiting for them to email me an invoice after speaking to them on the phone last week. Prefit for 599.99 is not too bad

Yes its a super reasonable price, pretty new though, I think out last year? I'm pretty excited to try them out, unless I can find a secret squirrel stash of the 147's at a good price.

I’d totally go for those Barnes. .700 b.c is pleeeenty good. For my 223’s I can pay .40 cents or more a bullet so that is a good price for a lot more bullet!

I just got a 6.5cm 26” m24 contour barrel done up from them. Fitted to a Terminus Zeus action, tt diamond, J-Allen stock. Got the barrel in the mail, threaded it on dropped into the stock and grabbed some 143 eldx loaded for my other 6.5. Checked they were not jammed and ran with them. From post office to range in about 30min. One shot-clean for 5 shots while I zero’d it in. Then shots 11-13 went into .41moa, cleaned the rifle one more time and shots 14-16 into .23moa. Pretty sure with some actual load developement it will be a pretty good barrel.
Great communication from them, fast service and an accurate barrel in the end. Not sure what else you can ask for.

Just ordered another IBI barrel from Jerry, will be my 4th one now.
That Savage 110 Elite is getting transformed from .308 to 6.5x47Lapua.

Longbomber, how much time did it take to produce?
