Anybody have problems sending $ to U.S.

Here's my story...

I finally found a particular antique...one ive been looking for for a while. I sent payment to the guy in the U.S. via express post. Guaranteed 6 day delivery.

Now im 4 business days past the delivery time and the guy hasnt recieved...canada post shows that it hasnt arrived through their tracking service and USPS shows it hasnt arrived.

Canada post is now searching for the envelope and my bank is on notice to refund the funds if the envelope is not found.

anyone else have issues with something like this?

I sent the damn thing so it would arrive as quickly as possible and now its been 2 weeks... Those damn postal chimps...:mad:

The guy i sent the funds to has no problem waiting. If the envelope is stuck in customs...fine. My biggest worry is that its lost or stolen.

I just hope i dont have this same problem when the gun comes north accross the border.
 
OK i have sent all my Payments by Expresspost to the USA
All of them have got to there Targets.
If there later than 6 buisness days not counting the day it was mailed i get a Refund on the Expresspost cost.
BUT tho some have been a day or two late ive Never had one not show up.

The Bad thing with sending a postal MO in USA funds is it has to be AWOL 90 Days before CP will cut you your money back and thats only if its not cashed.

How many days honestly since you mailed it? cause ive had then take 10 Days. sometimes 12 depending on where in the USA its going.
Welcome to the fun of importing. I got a few guns im waiting on.

Guns do get stollen all the time in transit as well as lost. I know a guy lost a $2500 Antique Rifle. How someone could steel that outa the postal system who knows.

Make sure you get insurance!!!!!!

Im at 11 business days now (14 actual days) so i guess im probably still ok.

Just a bit nerve racking wondering "why isnt it there yet...what happened...who swiped it"

Only once in my lifetime I sent a letter via expresspost to the USA. I curse that day! It was lost on their system completely. It arrived after about 3 weeks but that was not reflected anywhere.
Post employee suggested that I should treat it as stolen, so I went thru the ordeal of putting a stop on the bank MO that was in the letter, only to find it was cashed by the seller the day before.
Since then I put dozens MOs into the envelopes, slapped US stamps on them and dropped in the mailslot. They all arrived quickly and caused me no troubles. Stay away from the couriers, they will take your money, loose contents and make thousands of excuses. Hate them altogether!
 
It happens every day with CP. I send most everything regular mail and it arrives on average in 4-6 working days. CANADA POST HAS THE MOST OVERPRICED LOUSY SERVICE ON THIS EARTH.

Well thats a long time! Depending on how far from you the Seller is.
Im in B.C and have had Expresspost get to Wash state in 4 days but WI is like 6 days or 7

normaly it shows as posted then it shows as left Canada a few days later.

If its not showing Left Canada then thats NOT good.
It meens its gone missing in CANADA not the USA

The Canadian postal chimps are the fricken worst! drag there knuckles a little lower than the US ones.
 
Were at 21 days now with no delivery...Canada Post's tracing agent wont even return my phone calls. :(

At this point the draft is cancelled and new one sent...hopefully its closer to the guaranteed 6 day delivery this time.
 
Don't expect "Express" with expresspost. I'm sending material stateside daily by regular mail and expect 10-14 days max. Every time I've tried Expresspost it has run over a month and a few times to 45 days!!!!
Believe me, just send regular post and it'll get there.

Reminds me of our great Air Canada, who decided to start running "Jazz" betweeen Yellowknife and Edmonton, ........no provision for baggage, so they send it by truck which takes 2-3 days!!!! And then winter hit and they discovered their aircraft weren't certified to fly at -40, so parked them!!!

You gotta be kidding me...Is there no body that does audits to Canada Post...are ther no regulations about this? If i need a package somewhere in 6 days i need it there in 6 days...not 30. Somebody needs to rope these guys in and give then a good slap!
 
Canada Post guarantees their delivery whithin a set period of time. If they fail to deliver within that time, the sender gets a full refund.Not sure about mail to the US.
