With the pcc craze going on right now.

Why havnt manufactures made a 9mm lever action yet???

Am I the only one that thinks a 15 round 16'' lever action in 9mm would be the beez neeze.

Just me ?
Anybody?

I’ve wanted one for years. The only problem for a traditional tube fed lever gun is that 9mm is not a rimmed cartridge. A lever gun designed to use a glock mag would look very odd.

Winchester made Model 92's in .45 ACP for Argentina police use. These are fun guns that shoot well. There was also some Spanish "El Tigre" M92's made that sorely lacked in quality compared to the Winchester versions. I would gladly take a .45 over a 9mm meself.

With some changes to the lifter and extractor there is no requirement for a rim. That is shown by the fact that 92s were made in .45 ACP for South American police forces.

I suggest that a pistol caliber carbine would be shot much more often and rapidly than any rifle cartridge in a similar platform.

The odds of a faulty handload and or casehead failure would be exponentially higher. A rim could be helpful.

Much like the traditional rimmed cartridges found in European hinged action rifles/combination guns.

A rimmed cartridge would certainly be better IMO. Just correcting the folks saying rimmed cartridges won't work. The .38 Super could be an interesting choice. Semi rimmed and plenty of power for its size.

Doesn't seem quite right to myself.
In the quest for power a 357 would be the end game.

38/357 with a rim just seems right. Especially if you encounter a failed fired case stuck within the chamber.

But that's just me.

I don't mind the 9mm. Maybe kind of neat doing a companion gun in reverse for a semi auto pistol. But if I was after a "pistol caliber" lever action for something small and cheap to shoot, I would just use the .38 Special as you say.

But more than either, I'd really like to see the .218 Bee come back in a lever gun.

I reload so I do not see the point of a 9mm lever for myself when I already load for the 38 and the 357. For someone who does not though, 9mm ammo is usually a fair amount cheaper than 38 Special, and WAY cheaper than 357.

After Justin gets his way, a manually operated repeating firearm without a detachable magazine might be appealing...

Shot show is coming soon. I would wait till that kicks off before I start wishing for random new things.

I would not be surprised to see lever and bolt action PCCs because....reasons.

If some one can make an affordable and reliable 9mm lever action I would buy it. I would be more interested in a bolt action though. But only is its cheap because I can't figure out a practical reason for such things
