Anybody into driven boar hunting ?

germans are different than other hunters ... that is for sure and the main reason they hunt mostly abroad ...
.
recover of game is everywhere now and i do not think in one public hunting club or association that do differently in france.

accident is proportional to the number of hunters there is more chance to have accident among 1.5 millions than 250 000 ...

protocol for hunting is interesting but not for everybody: forget your camo thing lol and loden needs to be there ...

i prefer being among the hunters my brothers and sisters and tracking with the dogs than being sit during the whole driven part but that is just me.

one year or more to be able to hunt is just keeping not a tradition but only elite hunting ...

that is no problem you can ask the Jagdmeister to allocate you to join the beaters with dogs.

Mauser even built a special rifle for this purpose.

I cannot remember the term they use for this task.

here is the rifle https://www.mauser.com/en/mauser-12/mauser-12-trail.html

I have a stubby pipe in 9.3 x 62 for this purpose

and here is what you might experience

especially for all you extended long distance hunter

Sorry 9.3 Mauser

there is no catch

in Europe especially in zeee fatherland there are boar cinemas

of course a specialised commercial facilities and you can shoot to your hearts content.

I cannot reach my own footages so here is one for you.

cost about 25 euros for 20 minutes of shooting

you Will burn through more than 25 euros of ammo during that period.

you can request scenarios like woodland scenes, how difficult and how easy

this is usually where annual certification takes place during the summer

I usually burn through 120 rounds or 6 boxes of ammo in a session.

so again spendy

Well get ready boys

there will be a cull order very soon and get on the phone to your friends in Europe

My German friends are hoarding ammo for me already

I was invited to cull boar in 2014 in Lithuania.

it’s was free and unforgettable.

Let’s hope the Green Party and Greta does not barge in.

The cull order has already taken place in Poland and I can tell you it was epic! In Germany you must hold the correct license to hunt driven wild boar AND you need to get insurance and a foreigners hunting pass as our license are not up to EU standards it is not a free for all. I had to be invited by the owner of the land to come and hunt, I also had to get the correct forms here in Canada to bring my own rifle for the hunt. When I arrived I had to show proof that the rifle would be and could be secured properly where I was staying and I had to have someone else buy the ammo for me. Lots of rules but also a great deal of fun. 2020 was the first time I was not able to go, thanks frau corona.

Yes I missed Poland because no foreign hunters allowed.

all documents ready in triplicate for Germany and have purchased 500 rounds.

Shot 90+ In Lithuania

but this is the big one —if it happens

they already declared open season 2 years ago but it’s still spreading.

This will get the old boys out of the woodwork

can you imagine the German state Forrest declared that only non lead projectiles are allowed in 2015 !

I have mates that have said the wild boars are getting more and more brazen as of late. In 2019 I took a couple with my 222 while I was roe deer hunting. I give all the credit to my silencer. Made a huge difference for me. My Jagdschein is in order as is the lead free ammo. I think I will be hunting with a mauser 66 in 9.3x64mm Brenneke but am not 100% sure. I know the bloke there wanted me to bring my rifle because of how effective it was in 2019. I will of course be using a mates suppresser on it. Oh it will be awesome.. ( mind you i am hoping that the travel restrictions are lifted by may 2021 )

Hunting in Europe is not something most Canadians aspire to, but it is very enjoyable in its own way. Different rules, cultures, and opportunities. I'll have to look into this cull hunt. Last time I hunted driven wild boar in Germany was 2018, and there was no African Swine fever in Germany. Sad that it has spread that far, but it will create some opportunities. Kinda like our CWD culls of Saskatchewan deer a decade or so ago. Fun while it lasts, and before the depression sinks in of the "new normal" - low population numbers and diseased remaining stocks.
