I use a container of water, the shell holder a sanded dowel to very closely fit the case mouth. A piece of hardwood(to prevent the container cracking) and a hard rubber mallet.
Put the case in the shell holder, place the shellholder in the water on top of the wood. at this point everything should be below the water line and the case should be filled with water. Insert wooden dowel down to the case shoulder and whack it with the mallet.
Blasts the primer right out. If your dowel is a very good fit, there's no water spray.
That's the easy part. the hard part (for me) is getting the berdan primers. I use Large rifle with the anvil removed (Gloves and SAFETY GLASSES!). Seal them in with nail polish with extra solvent added to make it very runny. A blob on a toothpick pressed to the join and you'll see it get sucked around with capilliary action.
You need to remove the anvil from the primer and not the case as the berdan pocket isn't as deep as a boxer.
Save these methods for the rare stuff as it's alot of hassle.
