Anybody own several of the same rifle model in different calibers? Why?

nope I am a big mix.
I like it that way.
the only two that coma close are H&R Pardener compact .410 and a Pardener 12gauge 28"
 
I have 2 Thompson encore pro hunter actions and barrels in 204, 308, 7mm mag, 45-70 and 50ml

also 4 Browning BLR's in 243, 308, 325wsm and 450 Marlin

Other than that an eclectic mix including Browning, CSA, CZ, Sako, Tikka, Ruger, Winchester and a bunch of different models of Savage
 
I have 3 Rem 700 LSS in 30-06/300RUM/375RUM.

I like the durability/look of the laminate stocks/stainless steel.
 
I never consciously thought to much about having the same gun in different calibers . Until reading this thread , but I am likely a classic example of this scenario. first is Ruger#1s from .22rim fire to .458Win. I have since disposed of the big ones a bit to much recoil for my liking. .280 rem is the biggest one now. And Rem 700s in .22 rim fire to .458 win. I am down to .375 for the big one now. Actually there is a couple of 40x's in there, .22 and .308.
 
I enjoy shooting a variety of firearms so my collection is all over the map but I do prefer sxs guns. They seem to be taking the most room in my gun racks. I like to have a caliber for each spieces of game I want to hunt that is suitable to how I want to hunt them. I've always been able to switch back and forth between gun styles and shapes without issue
 
I like having the same safety system on all of my rifles and am also a big fan of 3 position safeties.....

I have Ruger M77 MKII rifles in .223, .243, 7mm-08, .308, .338, 35 Whelen (inbound) and 375 H&H.... The only rifles I own that are not M77s are my .22 (10/22) and my .257 Roberts (Ruger #1).....

With my shotguns I had to make a choice between O/U and SxS because it threw me off to change back and forth. More importantly, while I really like my Rem700, it feels odd to shoot after the Tikka and takes a few shots to get the swing of again and this idea should resolve that.

Thoughts? Does anyone else see my logic or am I just creating an excuse to buy/sell a handful of rifles for the fun of it?

If this is the idea, maybe look into a rifle that has the ability to swap calibers like the Sauer 202. That way it is the same rifle, rather than paying for having multiple stocks fitted for you
 
CZ's in the 527 action, loved them and had them all at one time, except for the 17 Rem.
The mores a fella has, the more he needs to load for and the more trips he has to take to the range.....LOL
 
I've got a couple of Pre-64 M70s. One in 257 Weatherby and one in 300 H&H. Also have a Model 70 Classic.

Why wouldn't you have more than one of something that works well for you? Everything is the same, laid out the same, works the same. Muscle memory won't fail you. Watch someone that mostly shoots pump shotguns try to shoot a SxS with double triggers.
 
I fall into this camp.
Currently have multiples of the husqvarna /gustaf 1900 action (270, 7 mag, 308 3006) and winchester 1894s (25-35, 32 ws and 38-55)

And that's after a sell off where I purged duplicates.
 
One rifle to rule them all.
One caliber to rule them all.

Nah, rifle model to match caliber.
22lr, smaller CZ frame
223 up to 260, Tikka Lite, Low weight for low recoil (none of us need to carry extra weight)
30 cal. X-bolt, something with heft to tame recoil.
338... heavy chassis
 
I had Carl Gustafs in 22/250, 25/06, 270 and 30/06. Also had Tikka LSA 65s in 25/06 and 30/06. The Tikka stocks had good figure and you had to look close to see the differences in the figure.
 
Several M70s, cause they so perfect that Kimberly and Montana make their own version. Several 94 winchesters or their variants and several Encore barrels.

For me it muscle control, knowing where is the safety, etc.
