I'm just wondering if anybody has put a Vltor MUR upper on a Cadex lower?? I know the fit and function should be fine, I'm more interested in how the colour match is, are they the same shade of black.
Bit of a difficult question to answer. I haven't personally worked with (or even seen) either of the parts you mention, but as far as I know, anodizing colour varies from batch to batch; there'll always be some variation unless both parts were anodized in the same batch. Hope this helps!
I have a CDX-15 lower w/ a DD upper they match pretty well but the Cadex is a little beefy-er.... if that's a word, then a run of the mill lower. Solid stuff though, really nice.
Thanks guys, the reason I asked is that I have seen a few photos of the Vltor upper that looked kind of grayish or chalky, it was probably the lighting but I thought I'd double check.
I had one Vltor Mur on Cadex, I have a thread with bunch of pics.. I think it's called "my first AR - Cadex meets Vltor" or something along those lines.. Have a look.

I was thinking about the CDX-15 for my MUR, but this Cadex is quite nice with the Vltor!
Is the Cadex a billet 7075, or a forged lower?
Does it have anything particular that stands out from the other lowers other than the beveled magwell and that it's made in Canada?
