Anybody running a Benelli R1?

.308 is not measly, just underrated by magnumitis that's all.
Once I settle on current hunting cal, I see a full stock rifle in my future in just that - .308.
I did get her dialed in nicely with some 150gr Interbonds and a max charge of Varget. Spits them into an inch with that load, and that's better then I was hoping for. It didn't like mid range loads, just higher end of the scale. Also hammers 110gr Vmax and 125gr SST into tight groups at high velocity.

Impulse buys is what put me in my current situation and every time I see a rifle that would fill the gap it is in one of my duplicates. I just cannot see myself selling any of the ines i own... But those full stocked rifles keeps me ticking and wanting.
I have the R1 with the comforteck stock in 3006 and I upgraded the rubber cheek holder to higher one so it gives me a perfect cheek weld. It is a great rifle out to 300 yards and with some load development you can get 1.5- MOA groups at 100 yards. I use mine as a heavy bush gun topped the Aimpoint Hunter. Due to the comforteck stock and gas piston system recoil is greatly reduced. When sighting it in make sure you give the barrel,adequate time to cool between rounds
Well for something different how about Sauer 303?

I use Federal Premium ammo in both my R1's in .300 Win Mag & .338 Win Mag with accuracy never less than 1.5" when this old guy is doing his part.
