Anybody sell degreased sks?

Any surplus (or even brand new) rifle should be torn down, cleaned, lubed and inspected before firing. The Russian batch currently for sale are not covered in cosmoline and don't take much effort to strip and clean. There has been quite a bit of sand in the bolt carrier/recoil springs in the few I have purchased recently. Definitely not safe to just buy and fire...

The Gun Dealer in NB does. At least the in-store stock. Bought one there pretty much grease free and several friends have as well. On special right now linked on their homepage. A site sponsor as well.

Who the heck said I wanted to 'buy and fire'. I want it degreased from the cosmoline because that crap is hard to get off, or so I have heard.

You heard wrong, it's easy to remove and you get to learn how to field strip and maintain your rifle. Win win in my book.

Can you point me to a source on how to remove it in the easiest way? I dont know which way is the easiest (black bag in sun, hot water, brake cleaner, heat gun, oven, are of the many theories that I hear of)

The gun strips in under 2 minutes. I used Gunk Blaster and some brake cleaner, was cleaned up and back together in 30 minutes the first time to get the cosmo off. I can strip and clean it now in under 10 in the field

When you buy from us just send us a message that you would like it degreased

You have some really nice rifles and unique products, but this requirement scares me:

"All orders for Firearms must include a legible scan or photocopy of the individual's P.A.L. (Possession and Acquisition Licence) Please email the scannedned copy of Firearm Licence to corwinarms@yahoo.ca"

Never going to happen.

Are you for real? There isn't a dealer (online or otherwise) that will still you a rifle without seeing your pal. How do you suppose an online dealer is going to verify you have a license unless you scan or photocopy?

Providing the license number is one thing, I've purchased from LOTS of online dealers and never uploaded a scan. And if I were to do that, it certainly wont be sent to a yahoo email address.

Take the wood off and wrap it tightly in paper towel and newspaper and set it on the dash of and old car in the summer time for a few hot days. Problem solved. I did two of them in the last few weeks. The metal is a no-brainer.

Varsol works well too.
Cell pic and email your PAL....not really an issue. Buying in person you can show it, little different online. Never had an issue in 15 years doing it.
Corwin has some of the last decent rifles BTW....not going to find better anywhere else.

Well aware of their rifle quality, looking awesome.

...boiling water is easy, free (almost), and effective...then a simple rub-down with cleaner and oil her up...and if you shoot corrosive then you will have to strip it every time...very easy strip...and if you're like me, the more you do it the easier it becomes...;)

welcome comrade!
