I've been thinking about getting contacts for trapshooting. I wear single vision glasses for shooting now and progressives the rest of the time. Trying to get better peripheral vision and faster target acquisition. Shooting glasses are a lot easier to find and cheaper too. Any thoughts?

Tried it, didn't work well I find if i stop blinking for any length of time, contact get foggy, glasses with a higher than normal focus zone works best.

most of the time. I don't have actual shooting glasses, so i always see the top of the rim on my everyday glasses,
and so i wear the contacts. but the wind does dry out your eyes, and makes me blink alot, sometimes the target is a little distorted.
something to get used to.

I use contacts and it took a long time and a concerted effort to get them to fit my eyes properly. I think I went through 6 different sets and it took about 14 months. I have an astigmatism in both eyes and of course they don't make ones that fit my eyes perfectly.

I went to contacts for shotgunning. More sporting and skeet, but close enough. Getting multiple lense colors in prescription is expensive, plus only ground for one focal point. Contacts follow your eye, I love them for shooting.

Looking at eye surgery since my optomitrist says my eyes dont like the contacts, even though I do.

Try 1-Day contacts. Use 'em once and toss 'em. Good for up to ~16 hours of wear per pair.

There is no need for durability so they can be made super-thin which prevents them from drying out as they demand less from the tear-film of the eye. The thinness makes them very comfortable and they breathe better than any other type of contact lens on the market today. See your optometrist and ask if they will work for you and at the end of the exam he should give you a couple trial pairs to test out before you commit to any purchase. They come in 30 and 90 packs.

I got my kid hard contacts you wear while you sleep. They reform your eyeball so you have 20-20 all day long. I think he wears them every other night.
I got lasik about 15 years ago - no regrets, best thing I ever did

I wear contacts, no problems!!! As mentioned get daily wear ones if you have your eyes drying out too fast.

I wear ones that need to be replaced monthly, but have no issues. Live in the Okanagan though so used to dry conditions, maybe my eyes are just used to dry days.

Good luck finding contacts that work for you.
