Just wondering if anybody was shooting a RIA 1911? I've been tempted to pick up one of their mil-spec models due to what seems to be a pretty positive response to them. Price-wise they're supposed to be very reasonable as well. Anybody know who the main distributor/dealer is for Canada?

This is mine and it has been great! The RIA has low cost, accuracy, and reliability. In the States the RIA is a worthy successor to the Norinco 1911A1 which is no longer available here. Regards, Richard:D

Hi Richard,

They certainly look like they're more nicely finished than most of the Norcs that have come through my hands over the years. Did you leave yours stock? Do any upgrades? Likes? Dislikes? Accuracy potential? :) Sorry! Lots of questions, I figured I'd get a little more response from our fellow GunNutz. Guess I'll have to stick with the 1911 Fourms, eh? :)

as far as I know no one sells them in Canada...

but from reading/posting on US forums it's my understanding that they have the same status as Norinco here (affordable but not as good as others) FYI Taurus PT1911 is regarded as a better gun by most :)

Supposedly "Rock Island Arsenal" is owned by "Springfield Armoury".
