Anybody tried FLuid Film?

Wouldn't try it on my guns.....far to thick and attracts dirt/dust like crazy! It is a really good rust inhibitor tho I love using it on my truck, atv, etc.

Have used it lots works great for the outer metal parts, it is to thick for internal action parts and will gum up.

Spray on the outer parts, let sit for 5 mins and wipe off with a dry cloth.

Leaves a very nice water repellant coating.

Yep, great rust inhibitor. Don't gum up. Use it where you would use grease. It is lanolin (from sheep's wool)

Have you smelled the stuff??? I'd really hate to have to stick my nose close to it.

I love the smell of it :) Reminds me of school in the shop. As a penetrting oil its great and as a rust blocker its pretty tough to beat, but I wouldn't be using it as a lube for a gun. If you want to use it, I would recommend spraying it into a cap or something and then applying it with a q-tip or rag that you dip in it, that stuff is gooey, right up there with Castrol chain lube

I have used it on all of my guns for about 15 or 20 years now and like it very much. Most of my guns are black powder (both muzzle loading and cartridge) and it is excellent on them. Particularly because on guns stored with the barrels vertical, it does not appear to migrate down the bore.
