I had some gift certificates for Bass Pro and bought some of the High Velocity Rifled Remington 12 gauge 3" Sluggers. The box says 1875fps. Anyone try these? Has anyone has taken a deer or anything bigger with these?

i shoot the sluggers all of the time, and without sites on my 870, i can still group them under 10" at 50 yards. i think you will like them.

I used to shoot Win rifled slugs with 8" drop in 50 yards!!! so I bought a rifled barrel but my hunting bud gave me some Rem Sluggers to try and they were all dead on with my smooth bore!!!!

are those 3" slugs 7/8 oz. or 1 oz.?

I just did some calculations and found out the 7/8 oz slugs put out 2989 ft/lbs of energy and the 1 oz. have 3418 ft/lbs. at the muzzle.
If remington made a 1.5 oz (just for fun of course) it would be 5112 ft/lbs. WOW! that would be on par with a 300 grain 458 Win Mag.
