I have not heard much about this cartridge, but it has interested me for awhile now. Anybody on here have any real world experience with it? The specs are pretty impressive with a 200 grainer at 3000FPS. Would make a heck of a canadian hunting rifle, but with a euro twist.

I have a BRNO 602 in 8x68S. One of the first BRNO rifles to be imported into Canada. Great cartridge. Exceptionally accurate. Cross between an 8mm Rem Mag & 338 WM but with less recoil. Will take anything in North America. Also an excellent plains game round for Africa. Extra cases I have.
I see by your signature that you are a fan of 7x57's. Well I have 6 of them! Also started collecting 7x64's as well. Got a few of thems too.

I also had a Brno 602 in 8X68S . Great rifle and a very accurate cartridge . It now belongs to Metric Man on this site , he has a lot of data and a reliable source of brass . He'll probably be along soon , if not , drop him a PM .

I used one in a Sauer 90 on a wild boar hunt in Germany. Absolutely flattened a huge boar!
Brought the fired case home with me for the memory.

In my youth/early adult hood in South Africa I knew of 2 hunters who used them, one Sauer model 90, the other a Steyr Mannlicher (Model S or M IIRC, the rear locking action with the plastic rotary mag). They have bit of following there although hardly common (more common than I run into here). Those that use them tend to be a bit of cult, kind of like .300H&H fans.

Brass is not easy to find.

Other than the .300H&H its the only small to mid size magnum cartridge that really interests me!
