Anyone seen this new show called Meat Eater on OLN?

Pretty decent show IMO. Watching a guy on his hunting trips, higher quality video compared to most of the typical hunting shows.

I'm definitely going to continue to watch it!

Watched a few episodes off the DVR last night... had to say it was pretty good to watch!

I searched to see if anyone already had a thread about it, but I didn't find anything so I figured I'd give everyone a heads up to take a look for it

I like that it appears to be done with out sponsors, just him and what ever gear he wants to take. Nice to see OLN taking on hunting shows, they are up to 3 now!

Watched it on Tuesday for the first time. Decent show, not a goon, no continuous product flogging like Canada In The Rough (even though I like that show too), shows his goof-ups (we've all been there, done that, lol) and doesn't shy away from showing the blood-and-guts of the real world. We need to have a show for the meat-eating anti's showing the internal workings of the commercial abbatoir, that might shut them up a bit. Kudo's for OLN, loads of crap for Global & Shaw.

Does he do any processing on the show? I get WildTV as well as OLN and my main issue is they rarely show much in the way of skinning, processing, or even cooking.

Everything I saw, he pretty much shows exactly how he processes/cooks and eats it right then and there while he's still in the bush... Pretty neat if you ask me.

I believe I remember him saying "It's my ritual to eat something wild on the land, otherwise I don't feel like I'm going to be successful on the hunt"

You should check out his youtube channel. Theres a bit more on the skinning and processing and a few recipes. The show is still fairly new, and its an active account so they add stuff in often. You can also ask him questions on the channel, he does comment on the videos too.

Good shows eh? Too bad Roggers doesn't offer OLN any more on their basic packages. I lost it and History tV and AMC along with a bunch of others. Now to get all that I lost back I have to do $40 worth of upgrading and that's in addition to my $45 dollar monthly bill. Not worth it to have a $85+ tax bill.

Watched a few episodes - both cases he left his kill overnight - lucky nothing came along and ate it on him lol

so far so good, but not a fan, nor do I see any reason for leaving your game over night. If the shot placement is good, (and you know where your shot hit) then there is no good reason for leaving your game till the next day to pick it up. Any animal shot in the vitals, will be dead with in minutes.
IMHO.

I stopped watching hunting shows.

"As Jim-Bob sits patiently in his GORILLA tree stand, perfect concealed by his REALTREE camo, he spots a XX-point buck (*dramatic music*) carefully tread until the field prepared with MOSSYOAK BIOLOGIC. He stealthily raises his REMINGTON MODEL 700 and centres the crosshairs of his SIMMONS REALTREE 3-9x40 behind the shoulder, and slowly squeezes the trigger on his SMALL ##### ULTRA MAGNUM, sending the BARNES TRIPLE SHOCK to it's mark........(dramatic pause) que.*banjo music then acoustic guitar*
