Anybody watched that new show? Meat Eater

Guessing that is a no. Easy for someone in Ontario to talk sh!t about what it is like hunting in big mountains.

so I'm talking sh!t cause I give my opinion on weather or not shot game should or should not be recovered at the time its shot, and don't hunt in the mountains?.....thanks for proving your a d!ck.

Like it or not, he's right. Had you said "I find it odd he leaves his kills" it would have been different, fact is it's a lot different in the mountains on foot, you might have to travel three times as much ground and deal with elevation changes. Even outside the mountains, who really cares as long as he's recovering the kills? I don't understand the judgement, he's clearly a good hunter and seems everyone enjoys his show (never seen it). If that's his method, swell for him, he's doing it ethically still.

Watched a few episodes - both cases he left his kill overnight - lucky nothing came along and ate it on him lol

I'm sure its common practise there. And it does make sense in that situation. But here in Ontario, its probs not the best thing to do. Our "yote" population is crazy, not to mention the black bear pop!
You take a huge risk leaving downed game in the field, and expect it to be intact and untouched, the next morning.

Pretty good show. Fantastic scenery. One of the few hunting shows I actually look for on the guide.
Watched it on Tuesday for the first time. Decent show, not a goon, no continuous product flogging like Canada In The Rough
Exactly what I was going to say. Best hunting show by far I've seen and I've got the PVR set too

With respect to leaving an animal overnight, it comes down to personal opinion. I'm not the one eating his kill, so I don't really care what he does. I have had the privilege of tasting moose that wasn't recovered until the next morning and can tell you that it tastes like a dog's a$$hole. I try and avoid leaving the innards in an animal any longer than I have to. But hey, that's just me. I have not seen this show yet but I'm looking forward to it.

I've seen a few of his shows now and I look forward to them. No big commercialism pushing the latest junk and no Boo-yeah! high fives between idiots.

Watched one last night where he hikes in using Llamas as pack animals. I do like that he is not ashamed to show his mistakes as well. Best hunting show out there IMO.

I just had the GF set a timer for it ...

Kind of funny ... my GF has never hunted but loves watching Bear hunts on WildTV ... when I check for Bear hunts on there I can't find them to save my life ... she puts tunes in and BOOOM Bear hunt lol.

I watched my first two episodes on my PVR. It was the Barbary Sheep hunt and the Winter Mule Deer hunt. I have to say I like it. I appreciate the effort he puts in, the camerawork is pretty great and I don't have to constantly turn down the irritating synth/techno soundtrack that far too many hunting shows use these days. I'm not so sure about his culinary skills, however, as he burned the hell out of his onions when he was cooking that quail in the dutch oven! LOL!

As for leaving kills overnight. I prefer not to do it if at all possible. Getting your meat cooled down as fast as possible is probably the most important step to ending up with superior meat. But, some times that simply is impossible to do. The one thing going for him at high elevations is the very cold temperatures you normally have, especially at night. It gives you extra time and if you get to it first thing in the morning I doubt if you'd have too much problems with the meat turning sour.

I like the show, it could be the best hunting show on TV. Its the only show I get my kids to PVR for me. I also like the no guides idea, it looks like he is doing on his own no baby sitters. Good stuff so far.

My son actually put me on to this show. He is 12 now and excited to go deer hunting for the first time this fall. I think this show does a great job of explaining the lure of hunting and respect for the animal. I'd say best hunting show I have ever seen. I especially like how he shows processing the meat and some camp cooking methods.
