Hey guys!

I'd like to know if anybody had access to an automatic/programmable annealing machine (Annealeez style) in the Montreal area and would be willing to let me anneal my .223 brass (around 350 pieces, Lapua brass). I'd be willing to compensate for the machine use at your convenience. I don't have access to one at the moment, and I'm trying to get as much life as possible out of these expensive pieces of brass!

Have a great day! :d

If you're needing it to be exact, any programmable kiln will work. So you could inquire with a pottery place as well.

Otherwise, the method I use is to anneal case necks using a water bath and a torch. Just stand the cases upright in water so only the portion you want annealed is exposed, and then heat with a propane torch. There's lots of tutorials on this method online.

You cannot use a kiln to anneal brass for firearms.
It’s only the case necks that must be annealed.
Annealing the whole case will lead to a case failure and injury or death to the shooter.

Jesus. People need to use that lump 3' above their ass. If you know nothing about annealing brass...you probably shouldn't be doing it. A programmable kiln will reach and hold any temperature you want. Limiting heat soaking to just the neck is always required. Suffice to say, critical thinking. Please use it. This thread didn't ask for a tutorial.

Interested in how you would limit the heat soaking to just the neck in a kiln? I suppose a pan of water would work if you could keep it from evaporating while the kiln heated up. Water boils away pretty quick at 600F, and it takes one hour to anneal cartridge brass at that temperature.
