Anyone a newer Savage model 24F?

Anyone have a newer Model 24F? If so, where does the barrel indicate they're made? Westfield, MA or Ontario, Canada?

The gun would have an A series serial number beginning with a letter most likely above F or G.

Thanks for any help guys, I'm trying to figure something out.

i sold a 24-F recently, and although i cant remember where the barrel was made i can say for sure it wasnt Ontario, that i would have remembered

Thats a start, I'm thinking most are gonna be stamped Westfield but one of the admins at Savageshooters seems to remember that there weren't any 24's being made last time he was in the Savage factory and was wondering if they had been sent to the Ontario plant to start being made there.

I checked the Savage site and noticed they dont list the Model 24 for 2008...

I don't know how old my 24F (12ga/.223) is. I bought it used in 2003. Both barrels are stamped Westfield and the serial number has the F prefix.

Ya, thats wierd.

Maybe they did start making them in the Ontario plant and then dropped them from the line up???????

Ya Tooner, yours would be to early, it was made sometime in the 90's.

Savage had money troubles back in the late 80's(filed for bankruptcy protection in '88) and dropped everything but the 110 until 1989/90. The Canadian plant wasn't opened until after 1995 to make .22's only.
