My boy and I have been out 3 days a week since the start of the season ...yet to see one.
The spot I hunt never fails to deliver...
But this year Ainsworth flattened more of it :(

We saw a few tracks weeks ago , But no sign even since...
He has a cow draw and would like to fill it

PM if you would help a guy out a bit:cool:
I assure you it would not be passed on past myself

Score Boy shot his cow elk today 21/11/2015

This is what happens when you spend the last 20 years hunting mostly one spot...

I know of another on the Canfor rd (That they logged a few years ago as well)
And perhaps a spot out towards Musreau, but have not been out on that trail (likely a high grade road now lol) in many years

I don't need exact location , just a tip on a road name would be nice

Have you been down that teddy lane rd just past cut bank then first left after you crest the hill?
I saw a few elk there last year, imperial road area may be good to but I've only seen deer there. Might be worth a look but can't guarantee anything. Also I haven't seen much for elk this year at all and I've been south of town around bald mountain, nose mountain, etc.. I've been down the Weyerhaeuser and ainsworth a bit too , also drove over the hilltop road area and out by Woking area once , haven't seen elk. That's a few places south of GP and NW ish of GP and not a single elk sighting. A few years back I saw them a fair amount but nothing crazy. There was a herd 2 years ago past woking and on the way to spirit river that used to graze those fields just off the that highway to spirit river in fields there. It's not the main highway to rycroft way but the one that comes out by spirit , you go through woking and take a right onto it at the end of the road. Same road by that chinook campground I believe. Haven't seen any there this year though but you never know, timing is everything sometimes.

Nope , cant just cruise the whole bush lol , boys tag is 356 only , crossing the Cutbank takes us out of the zone I believe(Have to check the maps though to be 100%)
Saw some sign in a new spot not far from my usual spot today , and some farther back seem to be out and about :)
We will continue where we are I think, saw some nice moose blocks today .
Lots and lots of Bear tracks ...That and Wolf...
Might have to try baiting some later on...Normally only shoot what I eat.
But the amount of tracks and actual sightings...there are way to many

Bear sign is good , not all hibernating yet , been kinda warm here for almost mid November. I'm still looking to fill a bear tag. You saw the sign in WMU 356 obviously?

I know of a group that goes there every year and every year they get their elk the first day if not the second. Used to make me extremely jealous. This year they got nothing. Not good.

I agree skidderman not good at all. I've haven't seen any and I have been a decent amount of places around town. All over the bush I guess lol. That spot I was talking about by the cut bank is pretty much right on the border but still in 356 I believe, according to the wmu map anyway. My main point was that I have been out and about all over and haven't seen elk and neither have my buddies so maybe they are few and far between this year.

if you don't mind me asking, where are you seeing the whitetails? (I assume thats what WT means) Ive been looking and i cant find a single one. mule deer everywhere but no whites. my first year hunting since i was 16 and i would really like to get something :)

Hey Skneub, shoot me a text tomorrow. My old lady has had a few walking through her back 40 the last few days. They were outside of her comfort range, but I'm sure you would be a bit more confident, or call them in closer. Also, cutbank is included, and will be part of the South Western boundary as long as you stay on the North side.

Will do man , sitting at work now 5:51 am

Found some decent elk highways today, but it was in 357/358, and I know of some productive areas in 359. I've spent most of the fall working in 356 but all i've seen there is fox, coyote and the odd moose.

357/358 is big time Elk country :)

But since we dont like to ask permission , we hunt and aply for our draws in 356

Talked to an operator yesterday way back on a road the other side of where I hunt.
he said even they are not seeing them.

But the tracks I saw from the 2 heards I know of were made since sunday and last saterday respectively :)
We will just keep on trying :)
And take cool photos of neat critters as we go (like the grouse yesterday)

Tomorrow back to the other end of where I hunt :)
