Anyone buying the $395 US surplus Beretta 92FS pistols?

Its basically $550 Canadian at the end of the day? No way.

I think if you are going to get a Beretta spend the extra $300 and get a new one with a warranty right? Or track one down on the EE that is BNIB for $700 all in.

I worked out $580. Asking prices seem to be around $700 in the EE for a used 92 series. I think I'm over it now... don't think they'll sell many with 28% on the dollar. Guys in the States will buy them as they are still saving about $230 US over the cheapest new 92FS there (looking at their site = $625).

The 92S' were the better deal at $259-299.

Yeah it doesn't really seem like a good deal

If the dollar stays low like this or gets worse and the new Beretta 92FS' get restocked at $900 retail price, then $580 for a used one may not be so bad. Cabela's has a 92FS Inox w/wood grips for $1069.

I see a 92A1 @ Wolverine for $870. Old retail prices will go up once they restock and will be more than the usual $750 for a black 92FS.

The condition of those 92FS does not look very good to me, when you factor in the exchange rate you can find better deal.

Sorry IRG, I love your service, but these 92FS are over priced for the condition they are in, they should be in the $250USD range in my opinion based on the photos I saw.

So you are saying buy one now lol???

No.

I am saying that all new stock coming from the USA will be much more expensive than before, making the $580 all in for a used one right now, not that horrible of a deal if the dollar stays the same or gets worse. Right now there is about .27 on the dollar to buy and most credit cards charge another couple percentage on top of that. Even at today's prices, I know of a new 92FS at a local store, $750 + taxes = $849.50 out the door. Won't find one for $750 in the future if the dollar stays low.

United States Dollar (USD) Client Buys (pays CDN) 1.273700

Will I buy one for $580 all in, nope. The EE is a better deal right now for a lightly used one.

I guess gone are the days of a few years ago. I got a PD trade in 96D with 3 hicap mags (limited, of course) and a nice case from wolverine for $429 Canadian.
There was holster wear, and wear from many, many mag changes (shift change mostly I would think), but not shot much. Its one of my faves!
