Anyone buying the French Mas-36, Mas-49 or Mas-49/56 @ IRG?

I was thinking about one until I saw the pricing... a little too steep for me to afford at the moment. Definitely something you don't see everyday. What do you guys think? I guess the 36's (bolt action) are still in arsenal wrap and cosmo.

They are nice - but seller is charging full commercial pricing - let alone the addtional cost of the CDN to USD exchange rate.

If $1200 CDN - a good and reasonable buy - but at $1500 CDN after exchange? No thank you. He it is a business model and charging within one currency does make sense - but IMHO it out prices the rifle for the Canadian market.

Try about $1700cdn after shipping, GST and exchange on the $1199 US model.
 
The last MAS 49/56 I saw for sale was in the fall for $900 CDN which was a bargin and I should have jumped on it. It ended up selling for closer to $1200. They are uncommon but not $1500+ uncommon - and heck I could always source one south of the border and use the same company to export import for far fewer loonies.

After they posted the pricing, there wasn't that much activity in their thread.
 
Would have been interested in the 49 but with our dollar and all...
ah well other times. Very beautiful rifles one day ill enjoy one.
 
I'm sure you could probably win this auction on an unissued one and pay the fee to import it and still be ahead of what they are asking for them... real nice wood too.

FWIW, unissued 36's (re-arsenalled like the ones shown on the IRG site) are common in Canada. I see them all the time for $300-400 CANADIAN. I'll pass thanks.
