Anyone call before 28 days?

Wow, its so amazing to hear that sometimes it takes so long to receive the license. I hope I don't have the same problems as some others. But out of curiosity, what type of questions do they ask you and your references during the phone calls? I am just getting my non-restricted license. Thanks in advance for any answers.

probably wont contact your referances for a non-restricted, it seems that the referances are only called for restricted, but not always

stupid question?

Maybe this is a stupid question but if the "RCMP-FIREARM/GRC-ARME FEUOTTAWA ON" charge for $80.00 has gone on my credit card already and the license query on the website says "Application Received on: 2009/05/25

Current Status: Your application has completed initial processing. It is now in progress. Please check the status again at a later date. "

does that mean I have been approved and now just have to wait for the license in the mail? If not, what happens next?

Now they possibly check your references, etc. All that message means is they have scanned your application forms, etc, and got everything ready for the final steps of references and completing the process.

Almost there.

just called and

I just called along with my references and we all did our interviews. However, the woman on the phone said that my photo is not scanned and then, after that is done, it has to be sent to the Ontario CFO for further processing so I should expect to still be waiting a while. Does that all make sense? So many people here said they were approved right away over the phone so I wonder why I wasn't.

I'm in the same boat buddy. It's been at my CFO's for further processing going on three weeks... now.

I'm a little confused. I got my license a couple years ago. Have things changed, is waiting longer than 28 days, normal now? I suppose when I got mine, the occasional fellow would wait an extra week, but me and most everyone then got it approved right on day 28. If it is normal to wait more than 28, I guess I understand why you are volunteering yourself for extra scrutiny, but if there's no problem, why stick your neck out? Don't go beyond what the law requires, or guess what, the law will adjust to require more from everyone, as it will become normal for folk to do more. It is already an imposition upon us to even require we be licensed, please don't make them expect that we'll all just call them up for a voluntary interview. If, for whatever reason, they had chosen me for extra scrutiny, I'd be fine, answer all questions honestly, etc. But that'd be the day I'd call them up because I wanted to chat, please give me an interview.

ya i just called she said it could take another 45 days and im only getting my non restricted.... i passed the course in early april
