Any comments on the collectibility, origin, or worth of this rifle? Inscription on action is as follows:
CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA,AS. BRNO.

No indications as to caliber.

Well... it's bubba'd so I wouldn't expect too much in terms of value... not a terrible one mind you but since the receiver is most likely drilled and tapped for the micrometer sight I wouldn't expect too much.

It's a well done bubba though... someone put effort into this. Though I'm not to enthusiastic about the stock or the military stepped barrel in this configuration.

Looks like someone put a cheap barelled action into an expensive stock. Too bad really as that rifle had potential to be very valuable if it had been crafted well.

Czechs made the VZ24 mauser in 8mm, that one has been "sporterised" and isn't original anymore. Probably find someone that would pay $250 for it....mabey.

Bubba'd or commercial CZ Mauser. Slug the bore to get the calibre. A chamber cast for the cartridge.

Hey, that'a nice rifle you got there!
Stock reminds me of some American custom trends from the late 50s.
You should check with a gunsmith for caliber because if there is no indication on the barrel root, you run the chance of finding a rebarrelled job.
8mm Mauser wasn't very popular in these years and many Mauser actions were fitted with barrels in 30-06 Springfield or .270Win caliber.
The fact that it is a Brno action is a plus, they are excellent.
Use it! don't sell it cheap!

Well, Its not a Bubba fer sure, but rather a sporterized ex military rifle, by a competent gunnsmith, and something done a long time ago.

Bubba jobs involve a hack saw and a wood rasp.
