Safe storage includes disabling it. I have a few guns, some are "tethered" on a single line. The ones I use regularly have the bolts removed...

just lock it up in a cabinet. it's not restricted.

I'm a fan of attaching a normal lock through the receiver bridge; put the bolt in the console or glovebox if you are in transit.
Put the guns in the the gunsafe and the bolts and gunsafe keys in the Combination safe.
Then if I lose the key for the lock it's not a drill situation but rather a Dremel / Die grinder to free the gun up again.

X3 I only trigger lock things that I can't take the bolt out of. I have 3 Cooey 22s and the lock is just for show. It would take 30 seconds to take off the trigger guard.
