Found this load posted on another site thought to give it a try as it was shot out of same gun as I had got for my sons 14th Birthday, a Rem 700 BDL 30.06 22" barrel 70s vintage. Paid under $300 NIB its been in gun safe for 25+ years
My son shot a 200 lb buck at 240 yards the first time out and never hunted again, guess killing somthing was just not for him.
I have owned quite a few 30.06s and even had one made up with a 26" Hart barrel on it, that gun would shoot 1/2" but gun weighed 9.5lbs. i usually used H414 & IMR 4350 powders that worked well.
I had some once fired brass for the BDL 30.06 and cleaned and neck turned them, and loaded up 4 loads 1/2 gr apart with RL 19 with 168 gr Speer match
just off the lans, used Federal Gold Match primers. I took off 1x to 6x Bausch & Lomb scope and put on a old hunter class scope a T6 weaver with a TK lee
1/4" dot and went out to range to try at 100 yards. Well the last load really was a nice one. hope this is some help for members, but maybe some of you knew of this load before. My son looked at group and said Dad maybe I will go with you when you try this load at 300 yards.

When I was at range a young fellow who was shooting the very same gun a vintage BDL he had just got from his grandfather even had the old green box they came in then. I went over and asked if I could look at his gun, and we put the two guns together to compare, they both looked like new.his serial # started with a A mine a B I told him you have a very very fine gun look after it and it will last a long time. he was quite pleased. walked down with the young fellow to change some targets, I asked him if he had a toonie he pulled one out of his pocket and I taped it with clear tape to backer board as well I put one up. I think the young lad thought I was nuts, went back and move scope adjustments up to be on at 100
I told the young fellow he had to hit the polar bear in middle of toonie we both fired and both hit toonie, I just touched top of polar bear he took out all of it he sure was some happy young lad made his day, he was still looking at that loonie walking away with his dad.
Any members tryed this RL 19 powder ?
