I have the following RCBC products fl dies(223), primer pocket swaging tool, trim pro, and three way cutter. The dies were great complete in the box. the primer pocket tool only had the large setup in the case when I got it, no prob they sent me out a new one. Three way cutter was a mess when I bought it, no prob the sent me out a new pilot fixed it right up. Trip pro wouldn't trim straight out of the box, again more free parts problem solved. Today went to set up my lockout die, and what are the chance they sent me 2 large caliber feet and no small caliber feet. Just wondering If I am the only cursed person when it comes to RCBS?
Anyone else have bad luck buying RCBS?

Anyways, I haved used RCBS and Hornady for years and never had an issue, nor has the guy who turned me onto RCBS and their great customer service.
Have you contacted RCBS before publicly condeming them on the internet?

I am shying away from RCBS, more on principle then anything else, but in the past I have found their products well made, solid and worth buying, their warranty is second to none. You can buy much flimsier reloading equipment, made from pot metal, not robust at all, after that you will appreciate well made equip....note: IMHO this does not cover any Chinese made equip. as I have no experience with it.

Bought my first RCBS dies/press/scale etc. in 1968 ... the most recent purchases two years ago. Never a problem/breakage or anything missing or not working properly.
Total satisfaction for me. No, haven't been drinking the Kool-Aid, and do have other minor stuff from Lyman & Lee, and would certainly consider the other green box dies.

I try to avoid RCBS whenever I can. In general, I find that equal or better quality product is readily available at lower cost (Forster, K&M, CH4D, et.al.). One exception that I own are the 50BMG FL dies. Very good quality. The ammo master press that I purchased with the dies is less than stellar quality. Pot metal frame that snapped at the mounting point. That said, it was replaced no questions asked. The replacement seems even lower quality than the original, so it sits unassembled in the corner of the loading room and the Corbin CSP2 press gets used for loading the larger cases.
Dont get me wrong, I like their products a lot. They have never once questioned some random guy (me) calling from bumble scum Canada for replacement parts or missing parts. They stand behind their stuff 100%. Its because of this I keep buying their product, just wanted to know if anyone else got a gremlin in every green box.
I've had a few minor issues with RCBS, as with all manufacturers of reloading gear. They stand behind their products, in my experience. - dan

I also have a set of 444 marlin that will not re size without getting stuck,They told me to send it to them along with a couple fired cases and they would troubleshoot the problem.I finally removed the decapping pin and they re size fine,once re sized i can then decap them,I believe there air locking.
I have a few RCBS dies and tools. One problem I had was with the .243 dies. I went through several decapping pins at first (they bent and it was probably me...). They sent me one each time. Last one they sent was mis-labelled or something. Resized too small. Again, they sent me another, free and within a week. Since then, I have not experienced a problem.
Another problem was with a .30-06 FL die. The nut wouldn't tighten down on the decapping pin and it was always pushing up. I had to send the dies that time, they sent back new ones. Mind you this was many years ago when they were still made here in North America.
I looked a a couple of dies (.30-30) last week while in Calgary. Seems that the quality may have slipped a bit. Or maybe just the design. Anyway, I didn't buy them.
I am, mostly, a Lee man anyway.

RCBS is not what it used to be. The newer RC presses are really hit and miss in terms of quality. My buddy had one and the ram would twitch to the side when the linkage cams over. He could never get his runouts below 0.005". He returned it and we examined the one on the floor. It had the same issue, so we took videos:

I've examined many of the new RC presses and half of them exhibit this. The old ones don't. This isn't a big deal if you just want to make a round that goes bang, but if you're loading for a precision application, it's completely unacceptable.
I have seen the same issue on LNL AP presses (took me three tries to get a good one), so it isn't just RCBS. Lee dies have given me fits also. I use products from all three of these companies, but I wouldn't dream of buying any of their products without examining them at the store first. Quality control has deteriorated in recent years and it isn't with just one of these companies, its happened with many of them.

I love RCBS products very much but many North American companies are cutting corners right now and QA (quality assurance) is particularly affected since my customers don't care about quality anyway (sad but true).
I've seen this with my own eyes as many of our best/most meticulous engineers have been moved from QA to production. As a result of this, production cost are way down but quality is more hit and miss since we put less effort into it.
