I have been trying to get out for my first moose hunt this fall here in Manitoba. I have contacted a few outfitters i found on the web. Each one i talk to or email says the same thing. They only deal with groups. Are there any other guys out there who do not know any group to join. I am starting moose hunting later in life at 50 and i do not have any hunting buddies as i usually hunt deer solo. I would be happy to hear from some other solo hunters. Maybe we could form a group for a moose hunt. Thanks

why do you need a outfitter find some land to hunt and hunt it plain and simple
How much money do you have to spend? Do some rearch on hunting areas and check on flights with an outfit that does floatplane flights. Our crew (4) has a spot we fly in to every year. We hire an outfit with an Otter to drop us off and pick us up. Solo all you'd need would be a Cessna,your gear and a canoe.
The only problem in hunting moose on your own is the work involved if you get one. Maybe you are fit enough to do it and don't care how long it takes to process, in which case, go for it.
I'm from Ontario so can't be of any help in forming a party.

I wonder after the responses to this post if , I have found one of the reasons we as hunters have trouble with non hunters we are a very closed group. Or are we not? Entering the hunter lifestyle later in life has hardships. Maybe that is why people are hunters young. If you do not have a group with childhood friends you are left out in the cold. Maybe we need a special place for new hunters to meet and become part of a group. Just my ramblings.
