Was out scouting this afternoon for Turkey's. Saw lots of sign of them around my hunting spots, though I didn't get a visual on any. They are starting to Gobble in the mornings around here. Managed to get the Shotgun prepped, a la Red Dot and Extended Super Full Turkey Choke. Dusted off all my Turkey Gear, and Calls. Can't wait for the 25th to roll around.

Did manage to get a photo of this comings falls' quarry though:D

Nice find, I caught a glimpse of a bunch on #4 today, Looked to be about 20. I cant wait for the season to start. I got Skunked last year but I didn't put in as much time as I should have. I booked off the 25th last week.:)

I have seen turkeys while out scouting the last two weekends. I am anxious for the 25th to arrive. Hopefully it will be a successful season. Good luck to all!

Just did my turkey course today. unfortunately the only shotgun i have is a mossberg 590 with the fixed open cylinder choke.. I'll just use the bow :p

Yea, i still have to scout, and prep...
Cheers,
P.

Can't come soon enough... I've got another weeks worth of feed to put out for them then it's all just waiting to play tag.

Not really gobbling that much here( north of Kingston). Seen lots of smaller groups, but there still seems to be a lot of large flocks. Maybe the harder winter will stall the breeding a bit and start a little later. Lots of birds.

He does make beautiful calls!

I've been scouting around but have seen NOTHING. I'mma little worried, myself.
Just keep watching they are there but a lot of habits are changing right now so all the big flocks we were seing out in the fields a week or so ago aren't going to be hanging out together like they were.
See that red coloured box (Honduran Rosewood) about third in from the left;)

Saw a solo bird Sunday morning on Vivian just out of Newmarket. I usually see a flock on York/Durham 30 around now bur the snow was still in the fields last week.

Here are some pics I took last spring from my car:D

For 12 Magnum,

don't forget we north of the city also have a fair amount of snow left in the woods and sheltered parts of the fields, we were in places yesterday that were still 18" deep so I expect another week and we will be feverish as only turkeys can make us.

Yeah, here in the barrie region also it seems that most of the birds have dissapeared but from what I am reading this is normal.Although I still see quite alot of turkeys but not as many as I saw this winter. This will be my first year hunting them and I cant wait to get out there either.I have secured a couple of spots that I have seen alot of birds this past winter but I was in today to make sure of my setup, cutting trees and twigs out of my shooting lane, but no birds to be seen.

I was up early this morning, having coffee off the deck, and they were Gobbling like crazy all around where I am. Was out in the woods with the dogs late this aft, and we kicked 5 or 6 hens up. Where there are hens, there are sure to be TOMS:D
