Just doing some research on Cooey 82's that were used as trainers for the Military. I see that a lot are marked with a serial number on the bottom of the grip.

On my Cooey 82, I have no serial number anywhere but I have C Broad Arrow stamps on the bottom of the grip, the buttstock, and on top of the barrel. Anyone else have one like this? Any info on it?

i have seen them stamped like that before with the big C broadarrow ...also owned (maybe still do ) the little front forestock piece with that stamp

I have 3 model 82's and I sold a 4th. All had the broad arrow C stamped on the barrel and a serial number on the bottom of the pistol grip. I have seen a few others the same as mine. I have never seen one with the broad arrow C stamped in the wood anywhere.

One can only speculate at this point. It is strange as to why bother stamping it on the pistol grip when it's already been stamped into the side of the stock. Maybe someone got carried away with the stamp lol! However, I would suspect that maybe these guns were sent from Cooey and were in inventory but ended up never getting issued. We know the broad arrow C designates government property and that the firearm met some level of government quality acceptance. If issued there should be a serial number in the pistol grip instead of the broad arrow C.
