Anyone else's NEA chassis arrive without assembly parts?

So about a month ago I order up one of NEA's 10/22 chassis systems. When it finally arrives a couple weeks later, it is missing the 4 6/48 machine screws that install the upper half of the kit to the factory receiver. As well, there is a spacer washer that was absent that assembles with the factory forward screw. I've managed to source out some screws but they'll require some shortening for proper fit. I'll certainly be able to cobble things together, but with significantly more effort.

Hopefully I am alone with the missing parts, and perhaps if someone has a photo or measurements of that forward assembly washer I'd appreciate the info to help button my project.

Before anyone suggests contacting NEA for the missing parts...well I have on several occasions and ... Um...after 10 days i've given up on them. They make a very high quality product...but they have issues with after sales service IMHO.

Exact same story here, I said f**k the upper screws and shortened a drill bit to fit the small bore that runs from the lower reciever to the upper under the barrel nut. I also dug through my masses of parts and hardware to find a random washer that gets the barrel fairly centered in the forend. I still may epoxy bed the action into the lower half as it does not tie into the upper at all.

Did you bother to try calling or emailing them? Oversights happen all the time and the company can easily make restitution to you and anyone else that may have gotten shorted some small parts.

If you read the last paragraph in my post, it indicates that "yes" I did contact them... Several times just to get the package shipped, and several more times for the mounting hardware. Promises were made by Dave M a week ago Wednesday to have it taken care of... 10 days, no hardware and no further responses from NEA - to both email messages or opened service ticket. My last message to them yesterday stated that I have given up on waiting for the parts and I would sort it out on my own.

Again NEA makes very nice stuff - including the chassis I have three of their products. They are, at least with me, not so good at following through with their actions.

Again, exact same experience. Not a big deal considering how tiny this part of their market is. Ill continue to buy their products for sure, the only time I needed an exchange it was dealt with promptly and I got a new tritium fsp for my 858 with no hassles. Except for the barrel thing haha. So much fail... but that was my fault so no biggie. Troop, Ill tear mine down tomorrow and get a measurement for the washer thickness and which drill bit I used.

It's not a high quality product if you are missing pieces. I would hate to think what else was overlooked. Just sayin....

Actually it is, the machining is fantastic. The two halves fit together so perfectly. The finish is quite tough etc. The missing parts are easy to source anyways.

Sorry for the trouble. The shop says it went out, once it's in CP's hand who knows what they do with it. They've been eating a lot of our small post envelopes. Trust me, we'd rather it got to you than having to send it out yet again and playing tag with the post office. We had one chassis make it out without hardware and every other box was confirmed complete. As well we have a visual check packing slip that says it was in. How it didn't arrive is beyond me. Regardless another set was shipped.

I bought mine as well as NEA's free float handguard and it didn't fit properly like I thought it should, and also an ar15 pistol grip which wouldn't fit properly, the back part of the grip got in the way of where the buffer tube starts. Not sure but I assumed ar15 parts would all fit it?

Did your grip have a top swell to it? Because the chassis only accepts standard A2 patterned grips.

If your rail didn't fit to your liking, why did you not contact us for assistance?

I'm not really blaming you because I didn't research it. When I bought it, it said it took ar15 parts so I assumed they would all work. The grip does have a swell, i mean it curves outward to the back, and I didn't contact you guys, I got it at the shooting edge so I already contacted them.

Do you know why the rail might not fit though? Basically it sits lower than the chassis system's rail, and it goes on an angle up so they're not parallel. Just wondering thanks!

I appreciate if parts are actually on the way - I had even given thought to popping by this week as we are in the Toronto area for business on Tuesday... but mail is great... I'll hold off on modifying the 6/48 screws that I've secured, and wait for the real deal to show up.

Thanks,

Mike

Cdnhunter, try dremeling the grip to fit. Another member did a build with an ergo grip that fit as well. Ive got an A2 grip that fits good. Post pics of the handguard on the chassis, my Midwest hg sits almost perfectly parallel with the NEA rail, I can mount QD mounts across both rails. P.S. does the NEA hg use a standard barrel not or does it come with its own? Mine is crying out for a 12" rail

Okay i'll get the pics up tomorrow though, and since the rail has to go back i'll probably just exchange the grip, mine's a 12" rail ;) not sure about the barrel nut i'll check also because theshootingedge just added it in for me, i'm a noob with this stuff. Also I noticed I didn't get the assembly parts, just noticed it because I haven't even put the 10/22 receiver inside yet since the rail wouldn't fit anyways.

Yet some more bad info on NEA products... I like the looks of them, but due to all the dis satisfied customers I've been hearing about I will likely never own Anything NEA....

Maybe they should work on their customer satisfaction.....
