Anyone ever fired the FS2000?

i feel special.....4 weeks till the basement is finished.......just waiting for Bay Bloor Radio to get in the rest of my THX 155" HD Home Theater....$28,000 of pure home entertainment.....who wants to come over and try out the PS3?

And the thing about Straneday is that he's not joking...

$28k on a home entertainment system is very reasonable. About 6 years ago I bought my first plasma TV, and at the time it was around $15,000. I was pretty hesitant, but I was given the best sales pitch ever: people will spend $50,000 on a car but only drive it for an hour or two a day in some cases. On average people spend over 3 hours EVERY day watching TV, so it is money well spent! :D

I am seriously considering starting the I Hate Strangeday's Guts Club. Anyone interested? :p :dancingbanana:
Yeah sign me up, I also want to start a club for that guy who always has pictures of himself with TV & Movie Stars because he does the gun props for them. :)

(Honestly though.....those two guys got it Sweet! I'm envious) :D

28k on the home entertainment is not a big deal i just droped 42k on the kitchen and it was far and away from over the top. I was in the shop looking at fridg and the nice sellsman was pointing out 23k subzero model to go along the 15k range just before i ran away

you mean Longshot?
Yeah, that guy.

I was walking to work yesterday and people were setting up to film something downtown (Fantasic Four 2?)......I think I might of walked past him. I was thinking of saying something like "Hey you Longshot? You lucky SOB, how do I get a job playing with guns and meeting Actors too!". :D

In all seriousness I'm sure it's lots of hard work too, they were out there seting up and filming for hours.....and it was cold outside. Pretty rainy the days before too.

I have fired the FS2000 as have both of my kids in preparation for Sxyglocks article.

I found it to be very light and accurate as well as easy to point.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED the mag release system! HATED........an abomination!!

I think the thread is going down the wrong path...
Stormbringer, how does FS2000 feels in terms of size? some people are little surprized by the size of FS2000, I think people expect it to be smaller...
How does shooting experience compare to, say... AR?

The FS2000 is heavier than a M4.

From Wikipedia:
"The FS2000 has an overall length of 29.1 inches and weighs 7.6 pounds when empty. Compared to the M4 Carbine with a fully collapsed stock (29.75" and 6.49 lb empty), the FS2000 is slightly shorter and heavier."

Other than being bullpup and join the "Oh no you can't have it" club, I'll stick with ARs... :D

mebius.....I said "found"....

That is because of the balance which was very good. That said it is "bulky" as well in terms of height.

Nice gun. Yes

Cool gun yes.

Would I grab it instead of a M4 in a firefight? No.

I had a chance to handle (not to shoot) a 2000 yesterday....
Wow...bulky or what... heavier than expected...awkward forward grip..unless you've got a M203 mounted!
Seemed to point well...trigger was long and heavy....
Mag release....sucked s**t!
In a nutshell...didn't knock my socks off,(as I had hoped!)... wouldn't rush to list my AR's on the board to finance a buy.
However, I did put my name down as someone who would go in on a group deal....What can I say...I'm a sucker for the latest, greatest!

If they come in a non-restricted barrel length then this would prob' put me right over the edge, and the house will have to wait for a deck until next year.

Then of course them Tavors look very promising also. :D

Non-Restricted Barrel

Is available:)......there goes the deck....LOL

Thanks for the responses. I am curious about the mag release. For those of you who didn't like it. Was it simply the ergonomics of a bullpup and mag changing you didn't like, or was it that the mag release button wasn't responsive enough or too hard etc.

Strangeday where did you get yours and for how much? Also what is the max range you've fired it at?

my last firefight was during an intense battle in Call of Duty 2! Will any of the dealers be offering these bullpup rifles? What ever happened to the XCR?

The mag release is a (?5LB) vertical push button behind the magwell...
Whoever came up with this one needs to spend more time with an AR for understanding ergonomic design!

A 5lb button? Jeez, no wonder people complain. What's wrong with a catch tab?
