Anyone ever hear of 8mm Swiss?

I saw a K31 with a welded on op rod to make it left handed at a gun show. The guy had a tag on it saying 8mm Swiss. I talked to him and said I never heard of that, told him that the K31 was in 7.5x55 and he told me that no, he knew what it was and it was an 8mm Swiss.

Anyone ever heard of that? I guess it is possible that it was re-barrled to 8x57 or someone made their own round.

Think you mixed up your sweeds with your Swiss.

Swedish 8mm is a well known round. I have never heard of 8mm Swiss

Rebarrel of a K31 is really complicated and terribly expensive.

I have seen pictures of Private series K31 rifles in other calibers, but not heard of one in 8x57.

Unless there is something weird and custom then the guy is full of crap, which would not be surprising, he does not know what he is talking about often.
