Anyone ever use the EyePal tool for iron sights?

Does anyone have experience with this device on the range? I'm interested in rifle and mostly receiver sights but I will try barrel sights too.

Looks like all it does is give the effect of a peep sight with open sights. So why not just get a peep sight if possible, with all it's inherent advantages?

I have over 6 peep sighted rifles and have shot them all my shooting life, 55 years, including the CAF. They are becoming very hard to use due to vision changes with age. Recent cataract surgery affected my vision as well. I wish to continue using iron sights accurately. Yes, I do have scopes and they are sure delightful but my Lee Enfield or Winchester levers deserve better, lol!

The trick here is locating the aperture very close to the eye. It works alongside the rifle's aperture by allowing a much longer range of depth of field. They are supposedly used by aging American service rifle competitors shooting issue irons.

Just hoping to confirm they work as advertised.

Seen.

Could probably make one to try yourself out of vinyl film and two punches? 25 us bones for two bits of film seems awfully steep. I'll knock a few out myself just to see if they help, just gotta remember where I left that leather punch... plus you can customize the aperture size that way too.
