Anyone familiar with vintage Oberndorf Mauser sporting (commercial) rifles?

I have a chance to buy one in 9X57 Mauser, but I'm not finding a lot about them online (pieces here and there), least of all the going rate for one in Canada. I'm fairly confident it's a Mauser made sporter, rather than one converted after the fact - the stock, barrel, receiver, and bolt all have matching serial numbers, Mauser marked buttplate, "9,0H" caliber marking on the barrel, etc. Serial number dates it from 1924-25.
The trigger guard is set up for double triggers, but only the front is present. It's also missing the barrel band (the one for the front sling swivel). Has a 3 leaf rear sight (100, 200, and 300 yards). I'm thinking it's a type B, but the barrel is only 20" long (has a ramp front sight). Bore is very good, blueing I would rate as good, and the stock, while has checkering that's not as sharp as it would have been new, is in good shape. Round receiver ring (no scope mounts) and it hasn't been drilled and tapped.
I know that without pics it's harder to put a fair market value on a gun, but given the info I provided, what should I expect to pay?

I don't think it would be a Mauser unless it's factory marked as one. I'll check my refrences later tonight.

It has the Oberndorf (something somethign Oberndorf, and then a/n or a/g - maybe Waffen Fabrik or something like that) marking on the left side of the receiver. The receiver ring is stippled, and looks just like a lot of the pictures of commercial Mausers I've seen online.

I was wrong about the markings. They can be had without the banner. Apparently they were ordered by gunsmiths like Rigby and others without the banner. If the barrel is smooth(no steps) what you've discribed sounds like a Normal type 'B' pattern no. 110. If there are steps like a 98K, I'd say it's a type 'C' Army hunting model. Does the floorplate have a release lever, or is it push button either in the inside bow of the trigger guard or the floorplate itself? Are there any embelishments like gripcaps or forend tips? It could range in price (I think) between $700 and 1200 if you could figure out who built it. Too bad its missing the rear trigger and its a non standard barrel length. I'd think as is I'd want to pay on the low end of that scale. Good luck.

The barrel doesn't have any steps, the floorplate release is a lever, and the grip does have a cap on it. From what I was told a previous owner made several visits to Africa on safari, and this was one of the rifles he took.
