I just tried some225 gr. TBBC in my 338 Win mag. No where near the accuracy I achieved with regular federal 225 gr. soft points. These a re factory loads though. I was wondering if anyone else has some experience with these.

I tried some Federal factory 225 gr TBBC in my 35 Whelen and they shot as good or better than my handloads, 3 shots into 3/4" at 100 yards. The same target has three 250 gr Speer bullets at just over 7/8" also at 100 yds.

I tried them in my 338 win mag a few years back found they would not group nearly as well as the 250 gr Partitions so went back to them. Each rifle has certain bullets it likes and shoots well, but mine definitely did not shoot TBBCs well.

They didn't group too well in my 338 win mag, but man did they mushroom and almost drop the moose in his tracks( he went about 20 yards, was quartering towards me at about 100 yards). I recovered the bullet from the opposite side against the hide.

Now I am thinking about using them in my 30-06 for deer.
