Anyone Getting Pumped For Another Waterfowl Season?

Yes!!!!!!!!

Reports from the prairies are very encouraging........ lots of water +millions of ducks = opportunity!

Just loaded up 100 rounds of #5 bismuth for my old LC Smith w:h:

Oh... And there might be some geese too (250 rounds of bismuth 3" 2's in the making for my old BSS)

Lucky:shotgun:

Yup, im busy with the training of Luke Bo Duke. Just started with guns over a distance to over his head last weekend and he is showing no signs of being gun shy.

Still has lots of training before duck season, he is only 12 weeks old.

I don't get interested in ducks/geese until after deer season

I go jump ditches opening day and take my limit of mallards usually. But I only get out n hunt the lake when the weather is so bad one must be crazy to go
Last year people laughed at my snow shoes over waders. Helped me get over the first 300 yards of ice. 11lb gun 80lbs of decoys 25lbs of ammo and a 600 yard round trip over ice to openwater. All for 1 goose. I did however shoot my goose call (goose warning device) it was probably my inability to use it but I'd rather believe it was defective as it could make any goose or flock of geese turn exactly 180 degrees and pick up speed

I would have loved to hear it in action, from the other side of the marsh though!! :p

Hell yes... been shooting clays the last 2 weekends in a row went through a skid of target loads.
Just got the cabela's catalog need a new goose call I blew my PC-1 out practicing any suggestions?

Let's see, duck boat hit with a fresh coat of olive drab, 200 rounds fired on clay range,3 different shotguns purchased in the last month, chocolate lab ordered from kennel, goose decoys touched up, bismuth handloads assembled. No different than any other year.

Nope.

Summer is too damn short as it is to look forward to it going any faster.

Waterfowl season is a lot longer than Summer anyway.

I can go waterfowl hunting any day of the week from October 10 to January 20 but here it is July 19 and in six weeks summer will be over.

oh man my heart started racing when i started watching the video and saw the geese floating in! I have a couple new calls i'll be trying out this year. a friend also just bought 29 acres in fort erie that im excited to try out :)

Just bought a boat, have to start working on a blind. Bluebills and longlines have been ordered, goose dekes need sorting out. Need to place my ammo order, shooting a 12 and a 20 this year.

Been shooting clays every chance I get.Need to get the guns patterned still as well.

Busy,Busy,Busy

Lucky! We start Sept. 1 and the latest I've been able to hunt is Nov. 3 :( After that everything's iced up and the ducks are gone...

Don't worry Cory, David Suzuki predicted that with global warming we will be shooting ducks into February in NW Ontario in about 20 minutes.....
PS that Ithaca in your pic did not have a Poly Choke!

Yes if you want the best bang for your dollar contact Doug Jalas at River Bottom Calls. He will put together a short reed goose call for you in Acrylic or Wood for much less than anything you get out of Cabelas!! They are real sweet sounding, easy to work and the workmanship is second to none!! You wont find a better call for $100. Here is the link to his website. Oh and the purty engraving on them is included in the price unless you want something custom then I believe it's $5 extra.........I have two of the Band Collector Series in Acrylic and 1 Acrylic Duck Call, they are awesome. The duck call is so easy to work and sounds so good I could not believe he charges only $60 for them???
